My dealer is smaller (my choice) and advises the system is set up to get a perosn into a car in 8 weeks. four from order to production, 4 to ship and deliver. I did go to one dealer who was looking at a production report, with a number of 540i that were apparently theirs (ordered but not sold).
If your dealer has ownership of a car going into production, it is possible...good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Dealer tells me car is being built this week, should get it by mid April...does this sound legit? Is there a way for me to track the progress of it being built, shipped etc?
It could be legit, if he is a large dealer and has cars in the pipeline.
