It appears BMW will certify almost anything. I have test driven three cars recently. The wheels were seriously out of balance on two cars (one was so bad the whole car shook when on the freeway), the front cup holder wouldn't open and the ventillation control buttons had to be pushed throught the firewall to make them operate on another car. The only thing the certification does is provide a limited extended warranty. Caveat Emptor is the watchword.
