: You can negotiate the purchase and install prices. But I agree with others that the install can be done by yourself. The only difference is in the warranty. Any BMW dealer options installed with the new car carry the 3 year 36,000 mile limited warranty. Otherwise its 1 year 12,000 mile. (I confirmed this and have it in writing from BMW). You have to decide if that is worth the dealer install price. I had the universal transmitter and CD changer installed for the cost they initially quoted me just for the CD changer - I've also talked to several dealerships about the phone and you can negotiate to some degree.

: : Dealer tells me car is being built this week, should get it by mid April...does this sound legit? Is there a way for me to track the progress of it being built, shipped etc?
: : My first BMW...the count begins. Also, can I get a cd player that will work with the steering wheel and is it easier to do a trunk or glovebox install myself or should I just have the dealer do it.
