: Barry, do the subwoofers have openings through the deck or is the subwoofer box somehow porterd through the deck? Are the "subwoofers" just hard driven 5.25" mid-woofers?

: Your kind help is appreciated.

: : Two 5.25" woofers are inside a small enclosure bolted to the underside of the rear deck. They don't attach to the rear deck directly. I'm sure you could install infinite baffle 8" subs but you would likely need to cut the sheet metal.

The subwoofer box has port holes in the top - which mate with the round port holes in the bottom (trunk side) of the package shelf.

The sound goes up through the interior of the package shelf and exits through the air vents at the rear by the window.

The speakers are dual coil units - driven in both directions - by being connected to two amplified channels each.

And the subwoofer box is not small - it is about 3-4 inches deep and fills the entire underside area of the package shelf - takes sup about 4 inches of headroom in the trunk (bummer)

Cheers

Jim Cash
