I like the clear lenses and have them on my Arctic Silver E39. If you want the amber lenses who am I, or anybody to say what you should have. It's your money.

As for safety, as long as you use the DOT approved amber bulb the effect is the same, a yellow signal.

Even I can't go for the clear lenses with clear bulbs since this is obviously a safety issue.
