The clear lenses come with an amber bulb, thus when on, they're the same color.
The advantage to the clears is that they are white when *not* on.

: What baffles me about all this talk about clear lamps is that I'm sure they weren't colored for aesthetic purposes in the first place, but for safety. It seems a little like painting a stop sign white. I'm surprised state laws would let you get away with it, but maybe I'm just naive!
