I asked my dealer about it and they said that BMW is working on the problem. I told them about some of the solutions provided by other BMW users and they told me that BMW tech support doesn't have a solution for the problem. Seems there is a defect with the MID itself. I've checked the archives under "flickering" and found some solutions. Mine hasn't flickered for about a month but I know it could happen anytime. I would keep asking BMWUSA. I would keep an eye on the recall notices. Rumor has it that a replacement MID may be in the works.
