The nav system adds a few features to the phone. However, I don't think the 540 OBC adds any functionality, besides dash readout, as opposed to MID readout. The only downside to mid-display is that you have to look at the radio screen, instead of the obc location under the speedo.

: Note that some of the phone's car integration features only work with the full OBC which is currently standard only on the 540 (with or without navigation). The only way to get the full OBC on the 528 is to order the nav system (in the US, at least).
