Strange light switch problem anyone? (archive)

This problem has happened about once a month since Feb. After I turned off the engine and turn the headlight switch to the off position, the parking lights and the instrument lights stay on, headlights go off. One time the lights go off by themselves after a few minture. Problem goes away after I "reboot" the car (99 540i) Has anyone experienced this problem?
