: OK people, I did it. Was vacsillating back and forth between the 28 and 40. Put some cash down on a silver 528 because my pennystocks have been sinking the past few weeks. Went over to the dealer to let the wife give it the final once over and what did I see: the orient blue/gray 504iA Sport/Steptronic/GPS/shades/premium sound/upgrade wheels that I passed on last week after some dufus dude cancelled his order upon delivery. When I saw it earlier, the sky was cloudy and it looked kinda drab. But in yesterday's Dallas sunshine, the paint sparkled. What the hell, its only another 15k. Any way, I do have a question: to those orient blue owners, how does the paint hold up to hand washing and waxing? I use soft cotton and chamois only, but had a black car some years ago that no matter how careful, it eventually showed minute swirls. Thanks in advance.: Ron

RON! I have a 99 328I Steel Blue/Sand Leather. I love it and want to keep it but I have been eyeing the 540 also. They look so nice. My question: how is the power and feel of the 540? Does it gobble gas? I miss my old 73 Cougar 351. Man that thing flew, but got like 10 MPG. I notice that the 540 is about 600 LBS heavier than the 328I. Does all that weight make it feel like a boat? Thanks...
