Norman, I've little idea about gas mileage, although it looks pretty grim considering I'll be driving the 540 aggressively when possible. As far as handling, the 328 convertible is the best combination of responsiveness/power that I've owned, including a 69 vette and 76 Alfetta GT. However, the sheer power of the 540 is exhilerating. I notice little handling difference when compared to the 528 rack and pinion. Yeah, I guess it feels like boat - a Cigarette!
