Norman,
I just test drove the 540i Sport over the weekend.
The gas mileage is bad simply because you will
not let your foot off the gas pedal. I could not
keep the rev under 4K because the V8 sound is
that good!!! Power... it definitely has plenty
of power, 0-80 in a blink of a eye!

540i is definitely not as nimble as 328i because
of size and weight.
