Front Bumper - E39 (archive)

Has anyone had problems with scraping or damaging the bottom of the front bumper after lowering their vehicles? I recently, put RD Sport lowering springs on my car and now have to be very concious of where I park my car, so that I don't run into a parking curb. Unfortunately, I ripped off the bottom rubber strip and caught the bottom of my bumper which peeled back a little. I was given a bid by a local body shop that it would cost $680.00 to replace the front bumper. Any comments or recommendations are appreicated.
