: From what I've read on this board, the radio antenna is in the rear glass, the nav antenna is flat, and the cellular antenna is an add-on, window mount. If that's all true, then what is the purpose of that little rubber antenna on the roof of my 99 540it?

: I had presumed that it was for the factory cell phone, but recent posters say that the BMW StartTac requires an additional antenna. Is it that the new digital Startac requires a different antenna, and the one I have is only for the old analog application?

: Please advise.

I was told that their are two antennaes for the radio. The rubber roof one and the one in the glass. But this may just be hearsay.
