I believe that with the BMW phone, a "BMW" and an "Emergency" button are provided. I almost positive that they provide the same functionality. I know that if the airbags deploy, it will call BMW and they will send assistance. I assume that if you press the "BMW" button that it will call BMW and they will be able to give directions and the like. I would go to the dealer and pick up the Accessory Book which has all the different phones you can put in the car. Hope this helps.
