I know that if the airbags deploy, it will call BMW and they will send assistance. I assume that if you press the "BMW" button that it will call BMW and they will be able to give directions and the like. I would go to the dealer and pick up the Accessory Book which has all the different phones you can put in the car. Hope this helps.

My 98 540i came with the CPT6000VR and has an ememgency button that summonds help. I also have the NAV and it can send the location of the car.
