Police officer, and some days (like most of us) they are either board or cranky.....the bottom line....you handled your self professionally and were never flip or snotty....bottom line the plate frame screemed....BLANTENT VIOLATOR....what all police hate most......any way nice story and as usual very cool PICS...keep'em coming Jimmy and glad you did not get tagged.

: Okay........ This might not sound as stupid than it really is!

: A little girl friend of mine gave me this "SPEED RACER" license frame as a whatever gift yesterday. She insisted to put it on my 540i (not E430).

: So I did. And guess what? Yep, just got pulled over by a bored California Highway Patrol whose been following through several traffic lights. (I was obeying all traffic laws and look as innocent as I can since followed by the cop)

: "And what's the charge, Officer? " as I gently ask the CHP.

: "Well, Speed Racer!" as the mustached Highway Patrol grins. "Unsafe lane change. You waive through the traffic while making your last lane change. By the way what do you do for living to afford a car like this?"

: "Excuse me officer, I had my blinker on every time I made a lane change. And how can I get cited for unsafe lane change while noticing you are behind me for the past 5 minutes?"................................

: After 7~9 minutes of "discussion" & "inspection", the officer decided to give me a break and let me go. Well, Gee~ Thanks officer. Guess it's my lucky day huh?! So is it me thats doing the unsafe lane change or the Speed Racer frame? lol............

: Came home, take a picture of this license frame then took it off the car. Sigh.... What a wonderful gift! What a weird Sunday! What a nice way to turn my 540i into a cop bait!
