: Wow!!! What a day!! What an event!!! Life is just UNREAL being a BMW owner!!! ......

: Before I begin, I would like to congradulate Jon Shafer and his crew on a job well done. Cutter Motors is most definitely in a class above all other BMW dealers. You've earned my business FOR LIFE!!! =)

: Woke up 6:30 am on Saturday morning, hop out of the shower and went straight down to Balboa Park. About 8:00 am, the SD caravan start to show up. At 8:15am we all fired-up our engines and head north 101 towards Santa Barbara. Traffic flow was average. The wife and I had the Front row seat on the 101 North (or west?)near Thousand Oaks/ Camarillo area as an Audi A4 tried to blow past or caravan. Leading our Caravan were 2 ///M3 and these guy were not gonna let the Audi get a chance to brag to his friends that "..yeah.. I blew by 6 BMW's, including a ///M3's and 540 (me =) )...."

: My wife couldn't stop laughing in the car as a had to speed to watch the race. She is one wild gal, as she root for the ///M3's. The race was over by the time we approach Santa Barbara county line. IMO (un-biased, of course!! ) .......BMW WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:
: The direction provided by Cutter was perfect (kudos to whom ever made the directions/map) Cutter Motors has BY FAR one of the best facilities in a BMW dealer (yes!! right up there w/Fletcher Jones dealership in Newport Beach, which we all know is the king of Luxury Car dealership.) Jon Shafer was out smiling and greeting at us, Nice touch Jon! my wife and I registered and went straight for the coffee machine =) (of course there was a line there already). We followed JFrench around as she was zipping up and down looking at AUDi's ( kept on telling her that Audi is a four letter word!! =)) I don't get it!! personally, I would not buy a Jag or Audi due to their reputation some 10 years ago for electric problem. Yes!! I know things are different now, but a bad press/image like that has burned a bad mark in my mind that will not go away for a while (BTW, I have no interest of gett'n into a debate on how "I feel" about a certain things, so if we could, let's just leave it at that, okay??)

: I've gotta say this, we met some of the nicest people at the bimmerfest. Alot of identification of "nick name" from this E39 board, and other as well. Met Ted and his wife (whose 540 looks identical to mine), John (nice Black 540, especially the rims!!) JFrench and my wife met for the first time (thanx for the Picture of Rob Fukuzaki, my wife Loves it!! =) ) The wonder twins from Santa Barbara/Santa Maria Phoeng and Viet ;-) (Nice M5 grills and thank for helping me w/ the CD installation, and the beers at "The LongBoarders"... I owe you guys big!!) =), and many others (had to cut it short due to time constrain).

: At about 12:00 we all fired up our engine and went for the "drive". WHAT a sight!!! miles of BMW's!!! and the drive... thru Los Padres Natinal forest... BEATIFUL sceneries. And Ahhh!!!! the road!!!straight out of the chase scene in the movie "Ronan". We took a group picture on the apex of the drive. Fun, fun, fun!!!

: There were many hand gliders on our way down, and you all should see their face when they see endless numbers of BMW's one after another, they probabbly thought there was a big sale in BMW's (i.e. buy one get one free deals ;-) )

: My 540 ia handles amazingly well!! the 5 spd steptronic was in full manual mode as I took over the command of the "Pride of Dingolfing". Awesome!!! I can confidently say this, "the 5 spd steptronic can/ will run neck to neck with the 540i6. If anyone out there is leaning towards an auto, but unsure, this is my vote of confidence!! of course it's always nice to have a 6 speed!! =) (no flame please, as I like them both.)

: For those of us who were there, what's w/ that one moron using the wheatwack near the stop sign?? The moron didn't have the curtesy to hold-of his "wacking" until the expensive cars are gone. What a shhmuck!!

: When we return to Cutter, iced cold LEMONADE was there awating for our consumption, sandwhiches (which were all GONE, by the time I got there). And YES!!!!! The world's best WARM cookies. (Okay, I know some guy had mentiond to Jon on this board regaring how it is NOT possible to have WARM cookines at his Dealership, and how Jon is full of it.... well guess what?? Now is the time for you to get down on your knees and apologize!!!!!) Yes, The cookies were GREAT!!... but one minor complaint.. ".... got milk??? " ;-) LOL

: Over all impression, it was alot of fun!!!, the wife and I never thought how our weekends would change soooooomuch!! Come to thing of it, Aren't the Lakers in the play-off or something?? ah... i can't keep up with those things anymore. Life is just too short when you own a B-M-W!!!!

: beewang

to enjoy some of this fun.
