I installed the Alpine-made BMW-branded 6 CD changer in the trunk of our new 528 and I'm very pleased. Sounds good, reasonably fast to change CDs and no skipping at all. Installation is plug-n-play and should take less than an hour.

I also bought from Pacific BMW. The changer was $373, the hardware kit ~$15. Make sure they send you the latest set of instructions, as mine came with a confusing older instruction sheet.
