perhaps they did ask for it, but I have 2 children, and the car ('99 540) does NOT MOVE unless and until everyone is belted. If someone gets sleepy, out comes the armrest....Our cars have many safety features: 8 airbags potentially; cornering braking, brake force distribution, excellent brakes, stability control, etc., and oh yes....324 foot pounds of torque (grins!!).
