I've posted or responded many times re going 17 or 18 if NON sport...so excuse the repetition: watch the tire size...if staying NON lowered, then go one notch taller than sport tires, which are shorter and therefore not true Plus Ones from your 225-55-16s. Go 8s or 8.5s all around with 245-45-17s OR stagger like the Sport wheels with 225-50-17 fronts on 8s, 245-45-17 on 9s rears..Only pitfall to latter idea is limited selection of the 225-50s..Michelin only in Z rated (MXX3s and XGTZ4s)..Big deal in either configuration is with Sport-sized tires, you will look like you don't have enough tire...won't "fill up the wheelwell" enough. The way I recommend, you keep overall tire height (diameter) the same = added benefit of virtually no odo or speedo error either. Ditto going 18s...go with M5 set up of 245-40-18s on 8s or 8.5s front and 265-35 (or 275-35 per M5)-18 rear...275s ok if what other poster says of no rubbing problem on M5 rear set up. Going "true" Plus One up from "Sport" would be 235-40-18s frt and 255-35-18s rear...again both too short for your non sport. Asa practical matter, I'd stick with 17s if not doing any other suspension mods...to take advantage of 18s, and o protect rims from "real world" nasty encounters. Good luck..
