I've got the same question, and I haven't got a good answer for you. However, everything I've read suggests the paint does need to cure for a while (ie, maybe 1 - 3 months). I don't trust my salesman to know the right answer, so when I pick up my car I'm planning to stop by a body shop I've used before and getting a paint professional's opinion.
