I'll agree to the premise that the paint needs to cure for 1-3 months. However, then you "don't" need to wait. Logic is ...

* The painting is the first step in the manufacturing process.

* My car came out of the plant in late-March, I only had it for a week in Europe, it was put onto the boat within a couple of days, and it will get into my hands by the end of this month.

* Assuming this is somewhat typical (i.e. 2-3 months between painting and delivery to customer, at least for non-European customers), the paint will have already cured for almost three months by the time we get them.

Thoughts?

: I've got the same question, and I haven't got a good answer for you. However, everything I've read suggests the paint does need to cure for a while (ie, maybe 1 - 3 months). I don't trust my salesman to know the right answer, so when I pick up my car I'm planning to stop by a body shop I've used before and getting a paint professional's opinion.
