Yeah. That's why Car & Driver and a British car mag whose name I forget both picked the S4 as the winner in comparison tests with the M3 and the Mercedes C43: because the M3 is a better product...(sarcasm mode off).

: : What's up with all of this "smack" talk. Have you looked at the numbers for a S4 vs those for a 540ia? They are very close with the S4 being a little faster to sixty. I, like you am not a fan of the S4, but a an S4 slightly mod'd would absolutely shame a 540 6spd, Dinan or not. You'd have to put a supercharger in a 540 for it to keep up to a 300+ hp S4. And I love the local audi salesman's comment, probably taken out of complete context, such as the "RS4 with 380hp is only available in Europe and is the direct competitor to the new M3, and because we don't get the RS4 in the U.S., maybe it would be worth waiting for the new M3 to decide."
