Why don't you put your money where your mouth is post on the Audiworld S4 forum and challenge a chipped S4 to a race? I've seen several posters from the Detroit area; almost certainly, one of them would agree to meet you and teach you a lesson in turbo torque. Talk is cheap...I'd wager, along with Hans, that a chipped S4 would leave you eating much-deserved dust...but you won't do it, will you?

As Hans duly noted, professional testers for the world's most respected automotive journals (including writers for BMW magazines) are heaping praise on Audi products. You can continue to bury your head in the sand and talk trash like a petulant child, but I can promise you that a run against a chipped S4 would teach you a valuable lesson. Meanwhile, I can use the $4K I saved over a new M3 to upgrade my motor to 450 HP, and if I'm in the mood, still have enough left over put firmer springs, shocks, and stickier tires on it. This would put me in the low-to-mid 12's, for a total investment of $14K less than your 540 (assuming you do in fact own one). Not only would this slaughter your beloved 540, it would easily show an M5 the door. (As will the S6 when it hits the streets, but that's another story.)

I am the last fan for Audi, but give them credit. The S4s in the Motorola cup are spanking the M3s if I am correct and the Audis spanked the BMWs at Sebring and probably will at Le Mans too. They are both good cars for different people and I would definitely put my money on a chipped S4 everyday over a dinan 540.

You are the last audi fan on this board, and i agree the S4 suits a different purpose (let me know if you figure it out) I think it is too big to be a paperweight. Now if you want to compare a dinan to a chipped S4 fine, but I wont argue the facts with you Audi guys anymore. It is clear who the winner is, and BTW you don't see us Bimmer guys startnig crap on your sites. And we are superior, your cars are as ugly as they come, and underperform. Goodbye wannabe Bimmers for good
