Missed that one. BTW, I think the 540 is a great car. :-) I felt your response was inferring that I "settled" for an S4 because I couldn't afford a 540, and took offense, because I can. :-)

:discussion on s4 vs 540. There was no " my car is faster/expensive/better than your car threads" The conversation was was objective. Many of the people here would agree that the S4 is a great car - we don't mind if the S4 is faster/better value etc.
I was responding to _one_ segment, mr "JZ" and co., who were repeatedly trashing Audis, calling their drivers morons, etc., etc....this is the type of behavior I'd expect at a KKK rally...bigotry is stupid.
I was trying to educate (admittedly, "pearls before swine" comes to mind) the bigot in question that Audis perform exceptionally well, and posted numbers to prove it.

Because that fool was trashing Audis. There's no need to spew that kind of filth; one can certainly say nice things about one's own car without trashing someone else's car, as you demonstrate in this post.
And I didn't _start_ the flame, I merely responded to false accusations with actual test data from respected automotive journals. please see the first message in the thread for mr. bigot's idiotic comments....of course, after hanging around for a day or so, I see that there are plenty of BMW drivers who find him equally offensive and are equally disgusted with his posts, which is enheartening.

Well, if I got on there and started calling BMW drivers idiots, saying that BMWs were junk, etc., etc., (which I wouldn't), you'd be entitled. These are public forums, and free speech rules!

Again: my posts were in _response_ to the rantings of a bigoted, semiliterate jerk. I meant no offense to the other BMW drivers on this net, and apologize if I've caused any.
BMWs and Audis are great cars, and competition is a good thing. Both manufacturers are building better cars as a result, and it will only get better.
Lets get back to enjoying our cars, and banish bigotry to the KKK newsgroups where it belongs.
