Go to BMW and get the LATEST door seals (the ones
ON THE TOP of the doors).
You want the ones that look like "suede" on the inside. You could check out the new ones in the
showroom.

The 97s are 100% rubber (a really crappy design). The dealer should not give you a
problem. If he does tell him to drive it
with all the windows all the way up. Then, tell him to drive it with all the windows down about 1/8 of an inch from the top of the seal. You will notice that there are NO SQUEAKS with the windows down a bit because they are not embedded on the rubber seals. There is a world of difference. Try it.

Hope this helps. Do this before the warranty expires.

like : The door seals on my '97 540iA squeak. Do others of you have this problem? I find it unbelievable that a car of this purported quality would have such a problem. Any fixes?
