I have a 528i Sport and a CLK 320. I know an E320 and a CLK 320 are different, but in regards to a MB vs. BMW decision my BMW handles much better than a E320, even better than the CLK, but MB is a more solid car,(I know this is an old cliche--it glides as if on rails).

Another plus--Mercedes fit and finish is excellent, the leather is better than BMWs, the soundsystem is superb (Bose) and the cupholders are much better. The interior of the MB looks better, less plasticky than the BMW and The MB paint is better than the BMWs paint. The E320 is a good choice, but it is big, feels big, and is underpowered. If you have to buy a MB try the CLK, it handles OK, but it looks terrific and man is it quick.

Even with the extra 20 or so horses and the faster 0-60 times in the lighter CLK, I enjoy driving my BMW far more. If you buy your MB and its a sunday afternoon and you have to choose between the MB and the BMW to go someplace you will always opt for the BMW, I do, its just more fun to drive.

: I have a 1999 5 series and am considering purchasing a 2000 Mercedes E320 to park along side of it. Anyone have late models of both? If so, can you comment on the exterior paint quality of both as well as the fit and finish? I am very impressed with the finish on my BMW and would hope that the Mercedes would be just as good. The "wood" interior trim in the Mercedes seems cheap looking compared to my BMW.

: Any comments would be appreciated.

: Thanks
