Sway on my 1998 540i/6 speed (archive)

I have a 540 sport that was made in early 1998. It feels like it has more sway than I would like, especially going around corners at relatively low speeds. I think the problem may be in the springs but I'm not sure. I'd really appreciate any thoughts on this. Dinan offers a spring that they say will reduce the sway but I drive in the city with lots of potholes and I don't want to be jarring my teeth every morning on the way to work. How much harsher is the Stage I Dinan suspension than the stock sport version? Has anybody had experience just installing the Dinan springs without the struts and shocks?
