Has anyone here ever retrofitted a BMW accessory wheel to a car because they didn't like the wheels from the factory? If any of you did, did you ever retrofit a set of five (including the spare)? How much did it cost you? The reason I am asking is because I am considering purchasing a 2001 540i automatic sedan with the sport package and I hate the radial 15-spoke alloy wheels that are included. The parallel 5-spoke alloy wheels are better than the radials but still don't cut it for me. I want to retrofit a set of five style 19 alloy wheels to the car. Three of the wheels would have the 8-inch width and two of the wheels would have the 9-inch width. The 8-inch wide wheels of course would have 235/45ZR17 tires. The 9-inch wide rims would have 255/40ZR17 tires. I am not going to use the OE tires (Dunlop SP 2K's or Continental Conti Sport Contacts) when retrofitting the style 19 wheels. Instead I will use the new Michelin Pilot Sports which come in these sizes. I figure if I am retrofitting these wheels, I can use any tires that will fit these wheels. Any information would be welcome.
BTW, style 19 is the bolted 7-spoke deep-dished rims.
