Also, truly "remoting" a V1 is a bit counterproductive since one of the key allures of that product is the directional sensing (front, side, or rear). You would lose this by hiding the detector.

: Anyone on the E39 board installed a BMW digital phone? My car is a 2000 540 - the phone was not avail when the car was delivered last October. I'd like to buy and install the phone myself, having already experienced the local dealer's capabilities.

: My last BMW (7 series) had a remote detector (BEL 635), with the control head mounted in the ash tray, and the detector head behind the grille. This was really clean and stealthy, but the detector "false alarmed" a little too much. I checked with Valentine, but their unit can only be hard wired, not truly remoted. Any ideas or recommendations?
