: Hi everyone! First post. I just attended my first advanced driving school in my '98 - 540i 6-speed. Car performed great! I was amazed.

: I've picked up the thread on the 3.15 gear conversion. I think I'm hearing Dinan is charging $1500, but some of the dealerships are charging $450. Is this an installed price? If this is the case, is this the best place to put the coin or should I be considering some suspension modifications or a performance ship. What's the best bang for the buck (if the intent is to get around the track faster next time out)??

Steve Dinan him slef would tell you to do your suspensoion first especially since you are looking to improve lap times. Once you ahve done the suspension then start the minor engine mods. Beleive me it is well worth the money.
