: VERY VERY cool features. I chose the "quick intro" option and my jaw's dropped. Among many other things, there's a really nifty "X-ray" feature which allows you to see the structure of the car as you roll a set of crosshairs over it.

: Ok, some of it may seem gimmicky and gadgety and, yes, I'm on a multiple T-1 so it might be quicker. But give them credit - it's a really neat site. I found myself smiling and my jaw dropping.

: Note: not endorsing the IS300 or even getting into that can of worms. It was just a neat website, that's all.

I have yet to see a Lexus at a driving event. I have seen old beater Celicas and other Toyota products but no Lexus. In contrast, everything from 2002' to 540i's are regulars at track events.
Lexus had to be dragged kicking and screaming to offer a manual in the second year of the IS300. I imagine you will see few of those at track events also. The difference in price is due to the fact BMW has better brand recognition (people simply won't pay the same for a Lexus) and, based on the recent crash test, maybe some more engineering in their products. The 328 was pretty amazing given the fact is was going against bigger, heavier cars. What I find interesting is that Lexus can't build a better performing product than BMW but simply equals it--after having all that time to examine the competition. Can they really build a competitor to the M5? Maybe but M5 will most likely still win the "fun to drive" subjective category.

I do agree competition is good but I also believe the competition has given us less aggressive, quieter, BMW's. Not all progress in necessarily good. I don't know about you, but I don't want my BMW to be more like a Lexus. I don't care about navigation, a button to turn the lights on in my house, and cupholders---I just want to drive.
