Installing the DSP will essentially be the reverse from what is described here. The main component you may not have is the proper wiring harness which incorporates the correct radio-to amp connections. You'll also need the harness to get the signal from the DSP amp to the subwoofer. On the other hand, maybe it all comes with the package you found on E-bay, or maybe the standard system wiring is compatible with just additional parts required for the DSP. I can't help you there. It would be best to check with your dealer to find out what different connections may exist in the different wiring schemes. The proper harnesses are most likely available, but it's a question of at what cost.
Finally, I believe that the plug-and-play is only valid for the units with the LCD screen and NAV. As I recall, the non-NAV DSP MID has additional buttons for DSP which the non DSP MID is missing. This would make it more "unplug and play" for removing DSP from the DSP cars than the other way around. Bob
: There is a "DSP upgrade" fpr E39 for sale on ebay. It is supposed to include the amp and the subwoofer. Can someone please tell me what would be involved in installing this? Is it essentially "plug & play" or lots more? Thanks.
