It should be the black and white wire (0.35 square mm) but to be sure call the Carin help desk for confirmation for your particular car.
You could hook up to this wire at the back of the instrument cluster, but this same wire is also linking the instrument cluster with the OBC and the DME and the PDC and the EDC and the servotronic and the cruise control and....
This wire should be everywhere. Check the wire looms that run inside the dash and behind the hifi system; I`m sure the wire can be found in there.

By the way, why did you buy the old outdated 520 system and not the recently updated 522 that comes with a wide screen? Or the almost identical VDO Dayton MS5000 which is even better and probably the best system on the market? (VDO bought Philips Car Systems a year ago).
