I bought the 520 because I had a Schnitzer console for the monitor and a 520. The monitor replaces the cupholders and looks great! The fit is tight and looks like a factory install. Schnitzer has one for the 522 as well.

One more question. I've read somewhere else on the net that the newer e39's do have have traditional speed sensor wires but transmitted via a buss. I found what I thought was the right black and white wire in the sterring column but it did not work.
