Personally I think the E39 looks kinda flat... (archive)

Personally, the current 5 maybe the best ever built, but the styling leaves me a little flat, too. I thought the previous two generations had cleaner, more purposeful styling. Nowadays, their cars are designed to appeal more to the masses.

: Anyone else agree that the E39 is not that photogenic (esp the side view)? I truly think that these are one of the most beautiful sedans out there, but pictures really dont do them justice. Everything from the front facia to the dished rims just look much better in person. Just wanted to hear some opinions.
