My current, unnamed as to brand, car is 8 years old with 127,000 miles on it and will likely last several more years, for someone else.

I expect a 540i maintained at factory or better standards to last at or beyond 200,000 miles.

When I take possession of my next car, I expect to keep it a long time, just like my first new car, seven years and 88,000 miles; and second car, 8 years and 126,000 miles. I sold them both to others who continued to drive them.
