Got a FIX for the steering wheel retracting issue! (archive)

BMW just called me, they monitored this board, search my name, found my phone # and gave me the FIX for my problem I am having with my 00 BMW 540iA not returning the steering wheel to the correct position each time I start the car. It goes to the correct tilt position but does not extract towards me to the position I need for my hands to feel confortable (it stays all the way retracted into the column).

Software #12 update per Joe Rossi (bmw hotline)
