I have both a 540iA Sport ('97) and a 528iT ('00) If I only had one car, it would be the 540, hands down. The steering in the 528i is indeed more direct and I like it, but overall the 540's engine feels (and even sounds) so much better.

: I am looking at both the 1997 528 5 speed and the 540/6. the price gap is huge almost ten grand.

: anyone drive a 528 recently trade up to a 540 and was it worth it in dreve pleasure?
