Ok, unless I am missing something, you have all experienced the following and I am wondering if there is a way around. The valet pulls up with my beatiful 540i after a nice dinner out. My date and I are waiting at the curb. I reach to open the passenger door for her and the valet is sitting in drivers seat with driver's door open, repeatedly punching the door unluck button, and of course it doesn't open. Meanwhile I'm trying to tell him to either reach over and pull the handle or to close the door and press button again. Of course he can't figure it out and I have to leave my date, go to the driver's side get in, close the door (at this point, my date probably thinks I'm going to leave her and anyone else looking on is thinking what a goof) and then press the unlock button. Her favorable impression of my beatiful car has now just been wiped out and she thinks I'm an idiot. Besides don't valet park, What's the solution guys?

BMW NA please fix this, so when I buy my my2002 540i I don't have to deal with it. Sometimes simple is better.
