Now owning a 97 M3/4 and 00 540i/6; I can tell you that the shifting is a world of difference. I cant stand the long throws and the soft clutch(with delay valve to top it). Since I just finished the break-in period, one of my 1st mods will be short shifter(anyone out an M5 shift lever?) and bleed the delay valve(maybe Redline too). Don't get me wrong, I love both cars, just striving for perfection(IMO).
