I've spent a lot of time reading messages on this board, evaluating the relative merits of the 528 and 540. You see, I had planned to buy one. 528 advocates say that the lower cost, near-even weight distribution, higher gas mileage and rack and pinion steering make it a more practical choice than the 540. 540 owners claim the extra +/- 90 horsepower and superior suspension make it worth the extra money. M5 owners have similar claims, and everyone is chipping, modding, lowering, tweaking to get just a little advantage over the other guy for the hopes that one day, just maybe, they'll have the chance to duke it out with an anonymous Porsche on the way back from the grocery store. Yes, I've figured out what's truly important. And I'm going to buy a Lamboghini Diablo.
