: One of my pet peeves is the decrease in trunk capacity in the E39. I'm usually carrying a bicycle, and it fits easily in my '95 525i. I tried it on the newer car, and it is a tight fit for my track bike; a road bike might leave grease on the panels. Are the side panels easily removable, even if there is a Nav unit and/or CD changer installed? I'm sure the trunk could actually be used to carry things if they were out of the way!
: Thanks!

Your dealer will have the correct info for ordering the cloth seats. Never give them just codes. If a code is wrong you are on the hook. Tell them in language form which cloth and colour you want - it is then up to them to make sure the coding is correct.
For your bike I would suggest 2 things.
Get the fold down rear seats - and if you want you can use a tarp (or custom BMW liner) to protect the trunk and seat lining.
OR - get the custome roof racks and the attachment for holding bikes (arm swings down for easy loading/unloading the bike).
I have the fold down seats and the roof rack (without the bike attachments) - both are great additions for carrying stuff.
