: : : At least the wheels on the 530i sports package, it looks better and a little bit easier to clean than the 2000 528i.

: : : Sorry, my first response somehow got lost in the above text and wasn't separated response was re: wheels...will be a shame if they go "cheaper" route on 530 Sport like they have on 540. 528s, while hard to clean, are great "BMW" wheels, being of the classic BBS variety. Ditto the regular (non sport) Premium pkg 16s which are also rumored to change.

There is change for the 530i wheels basic and sports. If you have a BMW 1999 Wheel catalog.
It is style 42 Bolted cross spoke II for the sports package. I won't be suprise it is also oem from BBS. Yes, there is a price differences from the previous to the current one. The retail price is $100 differences per wheel/tire. The old one is more expensive. Tell you the truth, I like the new ones. There is no change in the wheels for the 540. Just an interesting comparison, the 530i sports package wheels is $130 more per wheel/tire compare to standard 540i wheels.
