instructions specific to your year/model/build date. On the early '97s the tranny upgrade is a chip not downloaded software so you can do this without sending the box to them. However, engine upgrade is downloaded software for all E39 540i. Is there no Dinan-authorized dealer nearby?

: I want to send it in for the upgrades but don't know how to take it out. I have heard it is behind the glove box. I have a 97 540i.
