: After reading and reading countless messages about the phone options or lack there of I decided to do some digging around and found what might be a suitable solution for most of you.

: When I purchase my 98' 540i it came with the analog CPT5000 but I wanted to keep and use my digital Nokia 6160 for numerous reason. So I did like many of you and temporary used my 6160 and used a cig lighter plug. This got really old plus looked really home grown.

: I remember an M5 that had the 6160 custom mounted and called the stereo shop to see if I could by the mounting plate and they referred me onto the manufacture. The critical part is from ProFit. I paid about $40 for the part and it's custom made for our beloved 5 series.

: I did phase one of the install a couple weeks ago(sorry I could post any sooner) in about 10 minutes and was pretty happy with the outcome. I'm still using the hand free earpiece and cigarette plug but hope to resolve that in phase 2.

: I gotta tell you my disclaimer about being carful not to force or over tighten anything. In other words use your common sense. Gotta run but will follow up with the results of phase 2.
