My oil service seemed to come up about every 10k miles. I would change in the middle, about 5k and not have light reset. Use same or similar synthetic. One time the dealer reset my indicator by mistake and I made them give me the oil change for free, otherwise it would have been another 10k miles before I got a BMW paid for oil change. By the way, the dealer I bought the car from gave me a free oil change at 1,500 miles.

: my new y2k 528 5speed , has 3000 miles on it now,the dealer says do not change oil until the green lights goes to yellow.
: the car is shipped with synthetic oil. I think I wanbt to cahnge the oil at 5k, and not have oil service lights reset
: any thoughts from you owners with more experience than me?
