: Kevin,

: I did Euro delivery last October. The city center is close enough to the delivery center, just a short cab ride. I don't know of any hotels that are walking distance. Keep in mind that you also need to get from the airport to your hotel. Transportation to the city center is more frequent and efficient and less costly than getting to a hotel five minutes closer to the delivery center. I stayed at two different hotels (both with off street parking) that were just blocks from the main train station (a transit hub). While alternatives exist, taking the train from the airport couldn't be easier. There is a ticket counter (English spoken) in the airport, with an adjacent ATM machine (best source for foreign currency, in my experience). The train departs from the airport.

: The Board's cult favorite is Hotel Jedermann. They have a web site, I believe. Perfectly fine. I also stayed at Hotel Mark, which I found to be somewhat nicer, quieter, and a block closer to the train station. I don't know if either are three-star hotels.

: I hope that you are planning on putting some miles on your car while you are there. Its a once in a lifetime experience. (Or twice, if you repeat the process in a few years, as I plan to.) Others on the Board will be generous with their advice. I used the Nav system to its fullest advantage during my travels. If you ordered the Nav. system, bring some CDs with you. Good luck.

: Marc

: : Going for Euro delivery and will be there the 24th of July. Any decent hotels near the pick up center with parking? 3 star is fine...location is important

: : You can CC a copy to me at [email protected]

: : thanks in advance

I don't recall the Jedermann's rating, but I'd call it a good two star, which is to say friendly, clean, reasonably comfortable if a bit plain. I agree that it's the cult favorite, providing the singular benefit so beloved of inveterate Euro is a very good value. My kids loved it for some reason I'm not entirely clear about, so I remember it fondly.

Euro reports are becoming more important to me, as I am scheduled for an "M" delivery in Munich next spring! Keep 'em coming.
