: I posted previously about the Check Engine light coming on in my 99 540 not one day after buying it. As it turns out, the code was set by a faulty O2 sensor. The dealer is convinced that moisture got to it as a result of the engine bay being steam cleaned prior to sale.

: Speaking of dealers, I can offer a recommendation for BMW of Riverside (CA). They are about a 45 minute drive from my home/office in Orange County, and my salesman, Larry Pray, offered to drive a loaner car out to my office ASAP and bring my 540 back to them for service. Not only did Larry expedite my car's priority in their service department, but the "loaner" he arrived in was a '00 740 Sport! This, folks, is what you call excellent customer service. Although Riverside is some distance from those of us in the LA/OC area, I'd definately buy another car from them. Maybe when Nasdaq hits 7000 I'll be ready for another. :)

: Andrew
